Communication between group member is very important during debate, we have to be synchronize with other group member to encounter opposition team. Thinking and problem solving with extreme speed in require to win a debate. We have to figure out the fallacy made by opposition team which they might gave unrelated fact.

Research Project

Introduction:
This assignment will focus on comparative research. Your task is to apply the skills you have learned last semester in comparing similarities and contrasting differences to a specific business/trade that you will choose. Reflection:
In this assignment, communication skill is very important. There are some restaurant that reject our interview when we trying to proceed them. Leadership also very important as we have to divide the task equally so that everyone is doing their own task without clashing with each other. Anyhow, this project is fun, exploring and exciting. I love to interview successful business organization and listen to their story about how they success in their business.

Assignment 1

Assignment 1: Surface, Area and Volume

This assignment was the first assignment of the Mathematics module. We were assigned to built a model with limited sources of measurement.
My group member:
-Low Jia Cheng 0314883
-Kelvin Ng (me) 0315081

This is the task about, simple but challenging.

  • Pythagorean Theorem

a^2 + b^2 = c^2\!\,
  • Radian

Reflection:

This assignment is quite challenging and I feels like doing Engineering Architecture. I love this kind of assignment, it make me feels more realistic and I am able recall all those formula that I learned in high school.

Mathematics Introduction

Mathematics

Mathematics is a very important subject and it's one of my favorite. This module carry 3 credit hours.
People often said, Architect is an engineer who unable to do mathematics but I strongly disagree on that.
A good design not only posses beauty or impressive unique sketching but also blended accurate calculation in the sketch.

Assignment 2: Statistics

This is the second assignment of Mathematics module. We are assigned to form a group of 5 members for the task. Any topic related to compare male and female have to be choose to form a statistic.
Task :
  • Infographic

  • Report

Reflection:
In this assignment, I had encountered a lot of problem such as transportation problem, group member didn't give cooperation and etc. However, this project is still fun and interesting. Since mathematics is my favorite subject, form a statistic was never a problem for me. I love this assignment as much as I love mathematics.

Project 1B

Project 1B:
Measure, Draw and Diagram it!

Introduction:
In this project, we assigned to measure, draw and diagram our site that was chosen randomly by our lecturer, Ms. Delliya and Miss Norma. My group (B.I.G.) got the block A entrance for our site. We have to choose around 10m x 10m for our site.

Objective:
-to apply basic principles and elements of design
-visualize idea
-to demonstrate observation and visualization skills

Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this assignment, students will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Identify the fundamental principles, elements and techniques in sketching, drawing, design process and presentation skills.
-Demonstrate observation skills and be able to record, organize, interpret and describe a variety of issues via visual communications effectively.
-Manipulate variety of media and techniques to visualize ideas leading to a finish product
-Apply drawing as a means of communication in order to express two dimensional and three dimensional ideas.

Submission:
a.)cover (perspective)
b.)site plan
c.)site elevation
d.)cross section
e.)site detail
f.)toy detail
g.)bubble diagram
h.)axonometric diagram

Reflection:
In this project, I had learned alot about measuring the every detail on my site so that i can provide a plan from all those measuring. At the beginning, we did measure everything we saw and record it on a piece of A3 paper which we think it is detail enough for a plan yet it's not. It took 7 or 8 times total measuring my site along with my group member. Since we all are rookies, we did contact each other time to time to confirm whether the measurement we record is correct or not. In addition, this project not only taught me about diagramming or measurement but also enclose the relationship between me and my group.

Project 1A

Project 1A:
Sketch! Like Your Life Depends on it!

by Francis D.K. Ching

Introduction :
This was the first project for my semester two, a new experience on next level of drawing. Unlike what i did before, this project is fun and i found it interesting somehow. I learned how to sketch, hatch, think and even act like an architecture from this project and we were introduce to the architectural drawing too. Drawing, is a bridge of communication for architect, this is how we speak to the world !

Objective:
-to identify and expressive response to visual stimulation
-to apply basic principles and elements of design and drawing as language to visualize and to communicate ideas.

Learning Outcomes:
-recognize their potential, self-expression and visual awareness.
-identify the fundamental principles, elements and techniques in sketching, drawing, design process and presentation skills.

Submission Requirements:

a.) Body Parts
material used : charcoal pencil
b.)Object
material used : charcoal pencil
c.)Detail
material used : pencils
d.)Geometric Projection
material used : artline
e.)Tracing a Picture
material used : artline
f.)One Point Perspective
material used : artline
g.)Two Point Perspective
material used : pencils
h.)Artistic Representation
material used : mix

Reflection:
This project is fun and interesting for me, there are few hatching that i never used before and i forced myself to try for it.This is also my very first time experience to use charcoal pencil. Anyhow, i also learned new sketch such as one point and two point perspective. It was hard for me in the beginning to grab the perspective point but it's fun when i finally got through it. For the tracing part, I thought it is extremely annoying and hard but surprisingly it's fun and interesting! Although I spend like more than 12 hours producing the tracing picture again and again, I think it is worth for it.
