Project 2 : The Scope of Worker

This project was assigned to introduce the scope of work handled by professionals and sub-professionals in their respective professions both in the public and the private sectors in Malaysia. Otherwise, this project enable students to develop an understanding of the building team, its organization, their duties, responsibilities and the inter-relationship within which they will seek employment, career progression or further study.

         ICI stands for Introduction to the Construction Industry. This subject hold 5 credit hours of semester 1. The intention of this module is to immerse students into the world of understanding the nature of the construction industry.Students will be introduced to basic explorations within the context of professionals involved and sub- professionals in their respective professions in the construction industry. This module will introduce students to the organizations and issues within the construction process.

Project 1

Project 1 : Building Team

This project was organized to allow students to understand the role of each building team that involve in construction industry. In a group of 5 members, our task is to interview the key people in the construction industry. Our team was assigned to interview a developer. We are required to select a firm of the given type of business and research on the firms. Students will then need to set up an appointment with the company to interview these key people. Students are also required to plan and think of the questions and structure of the interview. They will also need to decide on how to produce an interesting documentary movie.

In this project, my team had interview two developer (Sunsuria and Global Oriental) due to weak time arrangement and tight schedule of the person we going to interview. Yet, we enjoy the interview very well and we'd learn alot about developer and his role in the building team. Communication skill is very important in this project as we need proper appointment and time management to set up the interview.
